This year’s pageant will take place on August 16, 2003 at the Eismann Center in Richardson (Dallas), Texas with statewide participation. We are kindly requesting your company’s support for our pageant by providing sponsorship. The Miss Asian American Texas Pageant aims to foster unity, understanding and camaraderie among Asian Americans in Texas and increase broad public awareness of the diversity and strengths of the Asian American community by showcasing the leadership skills and breadth of individual talent in Asian American youth. The pageant also seeks to provide opportunities for candidates as well as volunteers to further develop leadership and interpersonal skills through individual and group activities including community relations, public speaking, and various philanthropic events. Pageant contestants will represent a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds from various Asian Pacific nations. Candidates will have the opportunity to interact with other young women with diverse backgrounds, to make friends, and to cherish memories that will last a lifetime. The pageant winner will carry the title of Miss Asian American Texas 2001 and will serve as Ambassador of the Texas Asian American community in all social graces and civic functions for a period of two years. The pageant has grown dramatically from its original inception four years ago to currently fielding 25 candidates from its pool of applicants, and entertaining over 1,500 guests. We anticipate this year’s event to be bigger and better than ever. Your sponsorship would greatly contribute to the continued success of the Miss Asian American Texas Pageant and to fostering the development of emerging leaders within our community.
