Edgar Santiago, a Dallas resident who has been with the pageant since its inception.

Raj Seturaju, a man who has dedicated his time to Asian American students at various universities.

The audience also enjoyed the melodious voices of InnerVoices, California's finest singing trio.

2001 Pageant a Grand Success!

The Miss Asian American Pageant 2001 was a great success! Taking place at the beautiful and elegant Majestic Theatre in the heart of downtown Dallas, August, 2001, the packed audience was mesmerized by the 22 contestants who took the stage. Representing various Asian American cultures, the contestants opened the pageant with a bang, featuring a dance production to the middle eastern beats of Tarkan. contestants kept the magic of the night going with a colorful parade of cultural attire, the talent competition, and finally the evening gown competition in which they were serenaded by California's InnerVoices. The evening ended when Ms. Joy Nguyen, representing the culture of Vietnamese-American was crowned.
